Enagás Renovable Promotes Awareness of Renewable Hydrogen with the Catalina Project’s Mobile Information Point
21 de March de 2025A few days ago, we inaugurated the Mobile Information Point of the Catalina Project, an initiative led by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners in collaboration with Enagás Renovable, within the framework of the 1st Hydrogen Week of Aragón. This space aims to inform citizens about the details of a key project for the energy transition, reindustrialization, and energy independence of Spain and Europe.
The information point will tour until June 14 the municipalities of Teruel where the project will be implemented: Calanda, Alcorisa, Alcañiz, La Mata, Torre de las Arcas, Los Olmos, Foz-Calanda, Estercuel, Cañizar del Olivar, Alloza, Ariño, and Andorra.
The inauguration event, which took place on March 13, featured the participation of Yolanda Vallés, Director-General of Energy and Mines of the Government of Aragón, and Raquel Campos, Director-General of Strategic Planning and Logistics, as well as mayors of the municipalities involved and other authorities. Anton Martínez Rodríguez, CEO of Enagás Renovable, and José Gómez-Arroyo Bernabéu, Director of the Catalina Project, highlighted the positive impact that this initiative will have on the region, both in economic and environmental terms. The event was moderated by Raquel Martínez Barranca, Sustainability Coordinator at Enagás Renovable.
The Mobile Information Point offers explanatory panels on the role of hydrogen in the energy transition, a large-scale model of the project, audiovisual presentations on its impact on industry and employment, and the support of experts from the Hydrogen Foundation of Aragón to address visitors’ questions.
Catalina foresees an industrial renewable hydrogen production plant with a capacity of 500 MW, complemented by key infrastructure and wind and solar generation assets of 1.1 GW. With this initiative Aragón positions itself as a benchmark in innovation and energy transition.
