Enagás Renovable backs Just Transition at the High-Level Event of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union

The CEO of Enagás Renovable, Antón Martínez, was today present at the high-level event convened by the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, as a speaker at a round table entitled “Just Transition as a space to accelerate the reindustrialization of Europe”. The event brought together leading leaders and experts in the field of energy and environment from across Europe.

The roundtable was attended by renowned experts, including Mechthild Wörsdörfer, Deputy Director General for Energy, European Commission; Mary Burce Warlick, Deputy Executive Director, International Energy Agency; Sara Aagesen, Secretary of State for Energy, Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Spain; and Walburga Hemetsberger, Director General of Solar Power Europe.

Throughout the debate, crucial issues related to the energy transition and sustainable reindustrialization of Europe were addressed; discussing the opportunities offered by this just transition approach in the reindustrialization process with the new low-carbon energy infrastructure, as well as how the affected territories and regions can be involved in terms of new industrial investments.

Antón Martínez took the opportunity to highlight the importance of international collaboration and the joint search for solutions to the environmental and energy challenges facing the world. He also emphasized the opportunity that just transition represents for economic development in Spain, one of the leading European countries in renewable energies.

This high-level event marks a milestone in Enagás Renovable’s ongoing efforts to contribute to the advancement of sustainability in the energy transition.
