Enagás Renovable took part in the new edition of RENMAD Hydrogen 2024 + Biomethane

26 de January de 2024

On 24 and 25 January, Zaragoza hosted the new edition of the RENMAD Hydrogen 2024 event, which this year included a full day on biomethane, a renewable gas that also has great potential for development in Spain.

This year, both Marta Margarit, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Antonio Illescas, Business Development Manager for Renewable Gases, had the opportunity to participate on behalf of Enagás Renovable.

The Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Enagás Renovable, Marta Margarit, was one of the event’s protagonists as she took part in a high-level panel discussion, focusing on strategy and leadership in renewable hydrogen. The discussion focused on how to create a commercially viable and competitive market in the Iberian Peninsula, where Marta Margarit highlighted the fundamental role of public-private collaboration in building a sustainable renewable hydrogen market. Marta also focused on the need to achieve economies of scale and underlined the importance of business models based on alliances and collaborations for the success of the sector.

On the other hand, Antonio Illescas, Renewable Gases Business Development Manager at Enagás Renovable, took part in a panel discussion focused on Biomethane. The dialogue focused on “Biomethane Plants: From Promotion to Operation”. Antonio shared best practices in biomethane plant maintenance to minimise downtime and addressed the identification of various forms of financing to reduce project development costs. He also highlighted the development of pioneering projects in Spain by Enagás Renovable, such as the “UNUE” biomethane generation project.

The RENMAD event also dedicated a special space to recognise the work and dedication of prominent players in the renewable energy sector. This year, Mónica Sánchez Delgado, Business Development Coordinator for hydrogen projects at Enagás Renovable, was awarded the 2024 “Woman in Renewable H2 award”, a well-deserved recognition for her significant contribution to the sector and to advancing the transition towards a more extensive use of hydrogen technology.

The participation and recognition obtained at RENMAD Hydrogen 2024 + Biomethane reinforces Enagás Renovable’s commitment to innovation and leadership in the transition to a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
