Green Hysland, a project coordinated by Enagás Renovable, has been awarded European Hydrogen Valley of the Year at the Clean Hydrogen Partnership Awards 2023

22 de November de 2023

The Clean Hydrogen Partnership Awards 2023, held on 22 November, awarded the European Hydrogen Valley of the Year prize to the Green Hysland project.

Green Hysland is a European project that aims to deploy a renewable hydrogen ecosystem covering its entire value chain in Mallorca (Spain), turning the island into the first hydrogen hub in southwest Europe. The project is coordinated by Enagás Renovable in a consortium made up of more than 30 partners from 11 different countries (9 of them from the European Union, Chile and Morocco), from industry, science and the public sector.

The Green Hysland project includes the renewable hydrogen production plant Power to Green Hydrogen Mallorca, promoted by Enagás Renovable and Acciona Energía in collaboration with Cemex and the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE), as part of a plan to reindustrialise Cemex’s land in Lloseta (Mallorca). These recognitions make us proud as a team, but it is also an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences related to other initiatives, which like us are driving the transition to a greener and more sustainable future and in turn, contribute to green hydrogen.

Marta Margarit, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Enagás Renovable collected the award in Brussels. She added at the gala: “We are honoured to accept this award on behalf of the entire Green Hysland project consortium. Together we are shaping a sustainable future, harnessing the power of clean hydrogen to propel us towards a greener and more resilient Europe. Thank you to the Clean Hydrogen Partnership for recognising our joint commitment to innovation and sustainability. Without the Clean Hydrogen Partnership’s funding, this would not have been possible”.

These awards are a unique opportunity to share knowledge and experiences related to the other initiatives, which, like Enagás Renovable, are driving the transition to a greener and more sustainable future through the development of green hydrogen.
